Maloof Sports and Kiwanis Family House
Raise $88,000
Sacramento, CA, June 2, 2005 — Maloof Sports and Entertainment, owners of the Sacramento Kings and Monarchs, and the Kiwanis Family House have raised over $88,000 for the Kiwanis Family House through the Maloof’s ARCO Arena Charity Concession Stand Program.
ARCO Arena is the entertainment capital of the Sacramento Valley hosting the Sacramento Kings and Monarchs as well as over 200 exciting events throughout the year. The Charity Concession Stand Program allows volunteers to assist in one of the concession areas at ARCO Arena during Kings games. Maloof Sports and Entertainment then donates a portion of the net sales from the concession stand at each event to the volunteers’ organization.
The Kiwanis Family House is a non-profit group that assists families whose children are being treated for a serious illness or injury at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento by providing affordable temporary housing near the hospital. Guests at the Family House have immediate access to their child’s bedside, free shuttle service to the hospital, and a staff of caring volunteers available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A network of many volunteers operates the Family House twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
“We are dedicated to helping deserving, underprivileged kids in the Sacramento area,” said Sonja Brown, ARCO Arena spokeswoman. “Our Charity Concession Stand Program allows us to do this in a very positive way.”
“The ARCO Arena Charity Concession Stand Program is a wonderful way for us to expand our fund raising efforts,” said Gary Christensen, President of the Kiwanis Family House. "The Maloof organization is to be commended for offering this fund raising opportunity to so many of the local charity groups that participate."
